This summer sees the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. To mark such a special occasion, the Friends of Thurston Library will be publishing a collection of pudding recipes for everyone to cook and enjoy.

Do you and your family have a favourite pudding – a recipe you have created yourself or that is already published in a cookbook? It might be a syrup sponge, a sticky toffee pudding, a clever twist on fruit salad, a favourite ice cream, a family-approved cake … or anything else that’s either light and healthy, or naughty and stodgy.

Everyone has a favourite pudding … and that’s why here in Thurston we need your help whether you live in the village or surrounding area.

Please send us:

The recipe of your favourite pudding including

The ingredients

How to make it

If you wish, a few words (100 words maximum) explaining your choice. For example, why is it your favourite recipe? Who made it first? Why is it special to you or your family? Anything else of interest will be welcome!

Add your name, as you wish it to appear in the recipe book.  If you would prefer to stay anonymous that is fine: just let us know

Your contact details so we can be in touch: email, and phone number (optional). These won’t be shared.

We have been asked What is a pudding? Anything that might follow a main course, including cake

For all of this you can download a form to complete if that helps: Download here

Drop your entry in person to Thurston Library, or send it to thurston.library@suffolklibraries.co.uk

We would love to hear from you.

The deadline for receiving recipes is 12 April 2022.

The Platinum Pudding Recipe book is sponsored by allhomes. All profits will go to charity.

So, let the Platinum Pudding celebrations begin. And thanks in advance for getting involved.
